Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are 
expecting twin girls via a surrogate, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Both Parker and Broderick's reps confirmed the news.
A friend of the couple told Entertainment Weekly that they have been trying to expand their family since the birth of their 6-year-old son James, but had been unsuccessful.
"They came to the conclusion that this was going to be the best alternative for expanding their family," the friend told Entertainment Weekly.
