A few weeks ago I was out at Free Press Houston's Block
Party and while there I met a group of people that were tasked with promoting Houston's quickly growing Palestinian Film Festival. We spoke, they handed me a flier ('Handing me a flier is like saying, 'Here, you throw this away.'" -Mitch Hedberg) and I went on my way. But the more I read about it, the more interesting it became. (Plus, I actually spoke with one of Palestine's biggest hip-hop acts for an assignment here.) It is a rich, intriguing culture, and I fully intend on heading over this weekend to check it out.
