Gospel legend Rev. Timothy Wright has passed away. He was 61 years old. He was
affectionately known to most of us as “The Godfather Of Gospel.” He was the Pastor of Grace Tabernacle Christian Center COGIC in Brooklyn, NY, but was probably best known for his long list of choir hits like “Come Thou Almighty King,” “We Need A Miracle,” and most recently “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” For those of us who grew up in church over the last 20 years, you probably heard or had to sing one of his songs on a regular basis. Most of you probably remember that Pastor Wright suffered a really bad car accident on July 4, 2008 in Pennsylvania where his wife Betty Wright and grandson D.J. Wright were both killed. They were returning from a COGIC convention in Detroit, MI.
