After a bit of a sluggish season so far on the diamond, Cleveland has awakened and, suddenly, there's baseball noise being made alongside Lake Erie. Some of it's on the basketball court, or at least courtside. That's where CC Sabathia could be found Thursday night for Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals at Quicken Arena -- back in the town with his new team, the Yankees, for a weekend series against his old team, the Indians.
Across the street at Progressive Field earlier in the day, CC's old mates prepped for their series against the Yankees by extending their season-best winning streak to four, and their home winning streak over the Rays to 17 -- yes, 17, dating back to 2005.
When Sabathia takes the mound Saturday in Yankees gray, making his first start in Cleveland in a uniform other than the Indians' after signing a seven-year, $161 million deal with New York this offseason, his reception will be the center of attention.
