samsung alias 2

samsung alias 2

Fans of texting, E Ink, and budget mobile phones; the Samsung Alias 2 has arrived. Last week we brought you some early images of the new mobile, and now we're pleased to announce that the Alias 2 has launched on time and is available for purchase wherever Verizon cell phone plans are sold. The Alias 2 comes with Samsung's 2-way flip layout, an E Ink keyboard that switches between texting and calling modes, a 2.0 mp camera/camcorder (with Night Shot), an mp3 player and a microSD card slot. The Alias 2 is bluetooth enabled, and has a 2.6" QVGA screen. A $129.99 (before $50 rebate) 2-year contract will get you your new Alias. I'd recommend saving a few more bucks to drop on a 16g microSD card, so you can load your phone up with all the high-energy texting music you can find (we recommend Rush). The Alias 2 looks like a good deal if you're looking for an inexpensive-but-nice texting phone.

I really like the design of the Alias series, and I'm looking forward to the day when Samsung finally puts it into a good smartphone. The dual-flip to switch between typing and calling modes is a really convenient design, and the E Ink keyboard just makes the whole package even niftier. Maybe I'll get my wish when they come out with the i15000.
